Ep 18. Life Lessons

Life Lessons is the eighteenth episode of the third season of Boy Meets World. It features Cory Matthews and his best friend Shawn Hunter learning important life lessons when faced with tough decisions.

The episode opens with Cory and Shawn hanging out at the arcade when their friend, Stuart, approaches them. Stuart is upset because his dad has remarried and he is not happy about gaining a new stepmother and stepsiblings. Cory and Shawn try to console him, but they also find themselves thinking about the possibility of their parents getting remarried.

Later, in class, Cory is paired with Topanga for a project. Topanga reveals that she has a crush on a boy named Joey and asks for Cory's help in getting him to notice her. Cory agrees to help and sets up a fake study session where Joey will be the only student present. However, when Joey arrives, Topanga realizes that he is not the kind of person she wants to be with. She learns a valuable lesson about not changing who she is just to impress someone else.

Meanwhile, Shawn is struggling with his own dilemma. His neighbor, Mrs. Rosemead, asks him to house-sit for her while she is away. Shawn is thrilled at the opportunity to have a place of his own, but he soon realizes that it comes with a lot more responsibility than he bargained for. He learns the importance of being responsible and taking care of other people's property.

Back at school, Cory and Topanga are still working on their project when Stuart approaches them again. He tells them that his father and stepmother are fighting constantly and he doesn't know what to do. Cory and Shawn try to help by sharing stories about how their parents fought and made up, but Stuart remains unconvinced. Eventually, they realize that the best thing they can do is be a supportive friend.

Later, Shawn decides to throw a party at Mrs. Rosemead's house without her permission. However, things quickly spiral out of control and the house is trashed. Shawn is forced to face the consequences of his actions and learns a valuable lesson about owning up to his mistakes.

The episode ends with Cory and Shawn sitting in the hallway, reflecting on the lessons they learned. They realize that growing up is tough and sometimes they won't always know the right thing to do, but as long as they have each other, they'll figure it out.
