Ep 16. Crabs, Communion and a Comeback Pastry

Lastly, Buddy gets a chance to bring back a dessert the bakery used to make back in the day - cannolis. To introduce them to a new audience, he wants to reinvent the classic pastry. The team attempts to give them a fresh twist, by dipping the shells in different chocolate flavors and filling them with flavors like strawberry shortcake, tiramisu, and lemon basil. However, there are doubts whether the new flavors will go hand in hand with the traditional cannoli recipe or not.

In addition to putting all of their skills to the test, the Carlo's Bakery team also had to tackle some issues along the way, such as the humidity impacting the crabs made of cake, the pressure of making such an important cake for a Communion and creating the perfect flavoured fillings for cannolis.
