Camping is an American comedy television series that premiered on HBO in 2018. The show is based on the British series of the same name created by Julia Davis in 2016. The show revolves around a group of friends who go on a camping trip to celebrate the 45th birthday of Kathryn, played by Jennifer Garner.

Kathryn is a controlling and uptight wife who plans every aspect of the trip down to the last detail. Her husband, Walt, played by David Tennant, is passive and goes along with whatever his wife says. The couple invites their friends, including Nina-Joy, played by Janicza Bravo, and her husband George, played by Brett Gelman. Jandice, played by Juliette Lewis, and her younger fiancé Miguel, played by Arturo Del Puerto, also join the group.

The group's dynamic is tumultuous as their personalities clash, and the trip quickly becomes a disaster. Walt and Kathryn's marital issues come to a head, and their relationship is put to the test. It is evident that Kathryn is overbearing and micromanages every aspect of their lives, while Walt is much more laidback and just wants to enjoy the trip. This causes tension between them, and their disagreements become the focal point of the show.

Nina-Joy is dealing with her own relationship issues, as her husband George seems to have lost interest in her. Jandice and Miguel have a complicated dynamic, and their relationship is the subject of much fascination among the other campers. Jandice is wild and carefree, while Miguel is much more reserved, and their personalities clash frequently.

Throughout the series, the group faces several challenges, including inclement weather and unexpected visitors. But their internal conflicts are the main source of tension, and their interactions are often cringe-worthy but hilarious. The show is full of awkward moments and uncomfortable situations that make for plenty of comedic relief.

Jennifer Garner's performance as Kathryn is a standout, and she expertly portrays the character's uptight and controlling personality. Despite her flaws, Kathryn is ultimately a sympathetic character struggling to let go of control and find happiness in her life. David Tennant's portrayal of Walt is also noteworthy, as he brings a subtle charm to the character that helps balance out Kathryn's overbearing personality.

Juliette Lewis shines as Jandice, a character that is both quirky and unpredictable. She injects much-needed energy into the show, and her scenes are often the most entertaining. The supporting cast also delivers solid performances, and they all play their roles to perfection.

Overall, Camping is a hilarious and pointed commentary on modern relationships and the challenges faced by people as they try to navigate their lives. The show is full of comedic moments, but it also tackles serious issues like infidelity, divorce, and personal insecurities. The show is a must-watch for fans of dark comedies, and it is sure to keep viewers laughing and engaged until the very end.

Camping is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (8 episodes). The series first aired on October 14, 2018.
