Ep 4. Lauren & Derek

Lauren met Derek on MySpace 8 years ago, and they have been talking ever since. Despite living only 40 minutes apart, they have never met in person. Lauren has been in love with Derek for years, but there have been red flags along the way, including ghosting and excuses for not meeting in person. The Catfish team takes on the case to uncover the truth about Derek and hopefully bring Lauren some closure. As they dig into the case, they discover that Derek has been lying about his identity and using someone else's pictures. They track down the real person in the photos, who is shocked to find out their images have been stolen and used to catfish someone. The team also uncovers a shocking revelation about Derek's real identity, which sends Lauren into a tailspin. Despite the heartbreak and betrayal, the Catfish team helps Lauren confront Derek and get the answers she deserves. The episode is a rollercoaster of emotions as Lauren deals with the aftermath of being catfished for almost a decade.
