Ep 38. Cherie & Avion

Cherie and Avion have been in an online relationship for over two years and have never met in person. Cherie has been dealing with the trauma of her recent divorce and has turned to Avion for support. However, Avion has been hesitant to meet in person and has made excuses to avoid doing so.

Cherie's friend, Danielle, contacts Nev and Kamie to get to the bottom of the situation. The group starts their investigation and quickly discovers Avion's social media accounts are suspiciously lacking in content and friends. They also uncover that Avion's phone number belongs to someone else entirely.

As Nev and Kamie dig deeper, they discover that Avion is not who he claims to be. In fact, Avion is a fake persona created by Cherie's ex-husband, Todd, in an attempt to keep control over her. Todd had been catfishing Cherie for years, convincing her to give him money and emotionally manipulating her.

The group confronts Cherie with the truth and she is shocked and devastated. They work with her to come up with a plan of action to protect herself from Todd and move forward. With the support of her friends and Nev and Kamie, Cherie begins to rebuild her life.

The episode ends with a message from Nev and Kamie, reminding viewers to trust their instincts and be cautious when building relationships online.
