Ep 9. Infiniti & Dave

Infiniti & Dave is the ninth episode of the seventh season of Catfish: The TV Show. The episode follows the story of Infiniti, a young woman from Houston, Texas, who has been in a long-distance relationship with a man named Dave for two years.

Infiniti met Dave on a dating website and they quickly hit it off. However, they have never met in person, and Dave always finds excuses to avoid video chatting or meeting up. Infiniti is starting to feel suspicious about Dave's true identity, and she contacts Nev and Max to help her uncover the truth.

Nev and Max begin their investigation by looking through Dave's social media profiles and trying to find any information they can about him. However, they quickly hit a dead end as his online presence is almost non-existent. Nev and Max are also suspicious of Dave's reasons for not wanting to video chat with Infiniti, which only fuels Infiniti's doubts about the legitimacy of their relationship.

As the investigation continues, Nev and Max get in touch with some of Dave's friends and family members, but they all seem to be uncooperative and secretive about his identity. However, a breakthrough comes when the Catfish team manages to locate a phone number that is registered under Dave's name.

Nev and Max decide to call the number, and they are surprised when a woman answers the phone. The woman claims to be Dave's sister, but she is also very evasive about his whereabouts and refuses to provide any concrete information. Nev and Max suspect that the woman might be lying and decide to confront her in person.

The Catfish team travels to Dave's hometown in Illinois to meet with his sister. However, when they arrive at her house, they find out that she has moved out and left no forwarding address. Nev and Max are frustrated by the lack of progress in their investigation, and Infiniti is becoming more and more desperate for answers.

As a last resort, Nev and Max decide to use a private investigator to get to the bottom of the case. The investigator manages to track down a man named David who matches the description that Infiniti gave them.

Nev and Max arrange for Infiniti to meet with David, and when she meets him, she is shocked to find out that he is not the Dave she has been talking to for the past two years. David is just as surprised as Infiniti, as he had no idea that his photos and identity were being used by someone else.

Nev and Max manage to track down the real Dave, who turns out to be a married man with a family. Dave confesses to using a fake identity to escape the pressures of his personal life and to have an online affair with Infiniti without any strings attached.

The episode concludes with Infiniti confronting Dave over the phone, and both of them ending their relationship. Nev and Max remind viewers that it's important to be careful about who they choose to trust online and to always be cautious when it comes to forming relationships over the internet.
