Courtney & Chris is the second episode of the ninth season of the popular MTV reality series Catfish: The TV Show. The show is dedicated to exposing the truth behind online relationships, where hosts Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford help people in relationships with someone they have never met in person.

In the episode, the hosts receive an email from Courtney, a 25-year-old from Alabama who has been in a relationship with Chris, a 30-year-old from Connecticut, for over a year. Courtney was introduced to Chris through a mutual friend on Facebook and they quickly hit it off. They share many interests and have been talking on the phone and texting regularly. They have even made plans to finally meet in person, but whenever Courtney tries to set a date, Chris never responds.

Nev and Kamie reach out to Chris and get him on the phone. He tells them that he is a single father and has a busy schedule, which makes it difficult for him to plan things. He claims to be deeply committed to Courtney and describes her as his soulmate. However, when the hosts press him on why he has never video chatted with her, he admits that he doesn't have a webcam and has been using old photos of himself.

Nev and Kamie ask Chris to send them some more recent photos and they quickly realize that he has been catfishing Courtney. The man Courtney thought she had fallen in love with was actually someone named Brandon, who Chris had been posing as in pictures. Brandon is gay and has no idea that his photos have been used to deceive someone else.

The hosts arrange for Courtney to finally meet Chris in person, where they confront him about his deception. Chris breaks down in tears and confesses that he felt like he could never live up to Courtney's expectations if he had used his real photos. He is remorseful for the hurt he has caused her and begs for her forgiveness.

The episode explores the devastating effects of catfishing and the dishonesty that can ruin relationships. It highlights the importance of honesty and communication in online relationships and how deceiving others can have long-lasting effects. Despite the heartbreak and deception, the episode ends on a hopeful note, with both Courtney and Chris committing to move forward and rebuilding their relationship on a foundation of truth and honesty.

Overall, Courtney & Chris is an emotional and thought-provoking episode of Catfish: The TV Show that brings to light the dangers of online relationships and the importance of being true to oneself and others.
