The Catherine Cookson Collection is a British television series based on the novels by the author Catherine Cookson. Season 2 episode 8, titled "The Glass Virgin, Part 2," follows the story of Annabella Lagrange, a young woman who is raised as a servant in the household of her nouveau riche father.

In this episode, Annabella is still struggling to adapt to her new life as a member of the aristocratic class. She is in love with her childhood friend, the working-class farmer Manuel Mendoza, but her father sees him as beneath her and forbids her from seeing him. Annabella rebels against her father's wishes and continues to meet with Manuel in secret.

Meanwhile, Annabella's father is facing financial ruin, and he tries to arrange a marriage between Annabella and a wealthy but cruel nobleman named Lord Seadown. Annabella refuses to accept this fate and decides to run away with Manuel.

As Annabella and Manuel plan their escape, they are caught by Lord Seadown, who attacks Manuel and threatens to ruin Annabella. Annabella is devastated but refuses to give up, and she finds the strength to fight back against Lord Seadown's cruel control over her life.

The episode is a touching and emotional exploration of the struggles faced by women in a rigidly stratified society, as well as the power of love and rebellion to overcome those struggles. It is a must-see for fans of period dramas and romantic fiction.
