Descendants of the Sun is a hit 2016 South Korean drama, starring Song Joong-ki as Special Forces Yoo Si-jin and Song Hye-kyo as Dr. Kang Mo-yeon. After one of those classic rom-com cases of mistaken identity, they begin dating. But their jobs keep getting in the way of their happiness. Si-jin is sent overseas to be part of a peacekeeping force that frequently keeps him out of touch. Mo-yeon is frustrated after a colleague gets a job she had hoped to win. In the end, the couple decide they are too different and break up. But events keep bringing them back together with each other and they begin to think that fate might be pushing them towards each other. They begin dating again, but Si-jin is sent overseas again and is presumed to be missing in action. But is he really dead? Will Mo-yeon ever recover from her loss? All answers will become clear by the end of season one.
