Abby attempts to manage her family's expectations when Trace returns. As her children arrive in Chesapeake Shores and their excitement over Trace's return mounts, Abby tries to keep things calm and prevent anyone from getting too attached. Meanwhile, Mick attempts to convince Thomas to stay in Chesapeake Shores and work on their project together. As Thomas struggles with the decision between leaving or staying, Mick realizes that he may have to play hardball to get what he wants. Back in New York, Carrie tries to keep her jealousy at bay while discussing Kevin's possible relocation to Chesapeake Shores. As Abby faces the reality of Trace's return, she must figure out how to navigate the past and present to create the future she wants for herself and her family.
