Ep 5. We're Gaining A Daughter

Abby's dad Mick is back in town for the unveiling of his sculpture, and Trace has come home as well to see the statue. With both men in Chesapeake Shores, Abby is stressed, trying to balance her feelings for Trace and her fraught relationship with her father. To make matters worse, Mick informs Abby that he's decided to marry his girlfriend Megan, and the wedding is planned for the end of the week. Abby is shocked but agrees to help with the wedding planning.

But Mick's decision to marry Megan is not so simple, as his daughters are wary of the woman who they feel has taken their place in their father's life. Bree is particularly sceptical of Megan's intentions, and she and Kevin decide to dig into her past. Meanwhile, Jess is struggling with her own relationship with David, who insists on keeping things casual despite her desire for something more serious. And Connor has his hands full with his new client, a wealthy businesswoman who seems interested in more than just his legal expertise.

As the week wears on, tensions rise between Abby and both Trace and Mick, until things come to a head at the wedding rehearsal. Despite the drama, the wedding goes ahead, and Abby is surprised to find that she feels real happiness for her father and Megan. However, the joyous occasion is marred by news that the land where Mick's sculpture sits is being sold to a developer, and the sculpture will have to be removed. Abby, Bree, and Kevin vow to fight the sale, but they'll need all the help they can get to save Mick's artwork and protect the community they love.
