Ep 4. Slime the Competition!

In episode 4 of season 8 of Chopped Junior, titled "Slime the Competition!", the young chefs are faced with an extra messy challenge. The contestants, who range in age from 9 to 14, are each given a mystery basket full of ingredients that are perfect for creating dishes with a slime theme.
The first round requires the young chefs to create an appetizer using the slime-inspired ingredients. They have just 30 minutes to use their creativity and culinary skills to impress the judges. Some of the ingredients in the basket include gummy worms, kale, tofu, and grapefruit. The young chefs must use at least one of the ingredients in their final dish.
Next up is the entree round, where the kids must create a main course that incorporates slime-themed ingredients. This round allows the contestants a little bit more time, giving them 45 minutes to create their dishes. Some of the ingredients in the entree basket include beef brisket, pickled ginger, corn tortillas, and mustard greens. As always, the judges will be paying close attention to the young chefs' knife skills, flavor combinations, and presentation.
In the final round, the young chefs must create a dessert dish using slime-inspired ingredients. This round is especially challenging because the ingredients may not be typical dessert items. Some of the ingredients include sour candy, blue cheese, butternut squash, and bacon. The young chefs will have just 30 minutes to create a dessert that is both delicious and visually appealing.
Throughout the competition, the judges will be watching closely to see which contestants are able to maintain their focus and keep their cool under pressure. They will also be looking for unique and imaginative uses of the slime-themed ingredients.
At the end of the competition, only one young chef will be crowned the winner of Chopped Junior. However, all of the contestants are sure to walk away with valuable culinary skills and memories that will last a lifetime.
