Ep 2. We Plug Holes

In season 1 episode 2 of Code Black titled "We Plug Holes," the staff of Angels Memorial Hospital continues to deal with the influx of patients that come with "Code Black" situations. This time, the ER is overwhelmed after a group of firefighters are injured in a blaze.

Dr. Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) takes charge of the situation and splits the team into two: one for the firefighters who are being treated at the scene, and another for the ones who are being transported to the hospital. Dr. Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey), the new surgical resident, proves himself to be an asset as he helps the group that stays behind in the ER.

Meanwhile, first-year resident Dr. Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth) is having a tough time as he is struggling to control his emotions after dealing with a patient who died in his hands. He is seeking guidance from Dr. Angus Leighton (Harry Ford), who is also facing his own challenges as he tries to reconnect with his estranged father who is admitted to the hospital.

Elsewhere, Nurse Jesse Sallander (Luis Guzmán) is dealing with a patient who is in the hospital just to get pain medication. He tries to help her by finding out what is really causing her pain.

As the firefighters are being treated, it becomes clear that some of them will not make it. This puts a strain on the entire team, especially Dr. Rorish, who is trying hard to keep her emotions in check. To add to the chaos, the hospital is experiencing a water main break, causing flooding and electrical issues.

Overall, "We Plug Holes" is an emotional episode that shows the team at Angels Memorial Hospital at their best and their worst. The Code Black situations continue to put their skills and emotions to the test, as they try to save as many lives as possible while dealing with their own personal struggles.
