Ep 2. Life And Limb

In Code Black season 2 episode 2 titled "Life And Limb," the chaotic emergency room at Angels Memorial Hospital is thrown into further disarray when a gang shootout breaks out nearby, causing dozens of victims to flood the ER. As the trauma team rushes to stabilize the incoming patients, tensions run high amongst the staff as they struggle to keep up with the sudden influx of critical injuries.

In the midst of the chaos, Dr. Leanne Rorish (played by Marcia Gay Harden) must make a difficult decision when a homeless man with a life-threatening condition is brought in by paramedics. With limited resources and more pressing cases pouring in, Leanne must weigh the man's worth against the needs of the other patients and decide whether or not to dedicate precious medical resources to treating him.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mario Savetti (played by Benjamin Hollingsworth) finds himself in a difficult position when he discovers that a patient he previously discharged from the ER has been re-admitted with a severe condition. Fearing that he may have missed something during his initial examination, Mario grapples with the guilt and uncertainty of potentially putting his patient's life in danger.

Elsewhere in the ER, Dr. Will Campbell (played by Boris Kodjoe) must confront his own biases and assumptions when a shooting victim is admitted with gang ties. As he works to save the young man's life, Will struggles to set aside his preconceived notions and treat the patient with the same level of care and respect as he would any other.

Throughout the episode, tensions continue to rise as the ER staff is faced with increasingly difficult decisions and heart-wrenching cases. With lives hanging in the balance and resources stretched to their limits, the trauma team must work together to navigate the chaos and save as many patients as possible.
