Critter Fixers: Country Vets is a reality TV show that follows the work and lives of two veterinarians, Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson, and their team as they care for animals in their practice in Bonaire, Georgia. In season 1, episode 1 titled "Alpacapalooza," the vets take on a variety of critter calls.

The episode starts with Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson receiving an urgent call from a nearby alpaca farm. One of the alpacas is having trouble giving birth, and the farmers need the vets to come and help. The vets arrive promptly and are greeted by the farm owner. After a quick examination, they determine that the alpaca is struggling due to a malposition of the cria (baby alpaca). Dr. Hodges grabs a pair of gloves, and with the farmer's help, they perform a procedure to help deliver the baby. It's an intense moment, but eventually, Dr. Hodges manages to get the baby out, and it's breathing! The farmer is incredibly relieved and grateful, and the vets head back to their practice.

Next up, the team receives a call from a family whose cat has been gnawing at its paw due to a pesky grass seed stuck in it. The vets are all too familiar with this problem, and Dr. Ferguson is able to remove the seed and treat the wound. The cat's owners are happy to have their furry friend back in good health.

After a few routine check-ups, the doctors receive another call, this time from a dairy farm. One of the cows is having trouble getting up after giving birth, and the farmers are worried. The vets quickly head out to the farm to check on the cow. They soon realize that the cow has developed a nerve problem called Downer Cow Syndrome, which means she can't stand up on her own. Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson work together to help the cow stand up and make her comfortable. The farmers are grateful for the vets' quick response and care.

Later in the day, the team receives yet another call from a family whose pet dog had an unfortunate accident. The dog's owners are worried because she ate a fishhook, which is a dangerous situation that could potentially cause severe damage to the dog's internal organs. Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson examine the dog and come up with a plan to perform surgery and remove the hook safely. The surgery is successful, and the dog is on the road to recovery.

Towards the end of the episode, the team receives a call from a woman whose pet goat is struggling. The goat is not feeling well and has not eaten anything in days. Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson quickly examine the goat and realize that it's suffering from a parasitic infection. They provide medication to the goat and give the owner advice on how to improve its diet.

In summary, the first episode of Critter Fixers: Country Vets showcases the daily challenges that Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson face while helping various animals in need.
