In the second episode of Critter Fixers: Country Vets season 1, titled "Hump Day," Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson encounter a variety of challenging cases in their rural Georgia practice. From routine check-ups to emergency surgeries, the two veterinarians work tirelessly to keep their patients healthy and happy.

The episode begins with the doctors checking in on a pregnant cow, who is due to give birth any day. They notice that her udder is swollen and that she appears to be in a lot of pain. After performing a thorough exam, they determine that she has mastitis, an infection of the udder that can be fatal if not treated promptly. Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson administer antibiotics and give the cow plenty of fluids and rest in hopes that she will recover quickly.

Next, the doctors visit a family who has adopted a young potbellied pig as a pet. The pig, named Petunia, has gotten into the habit of running into the road whenever she sees a car, putting her in danger of being hit. Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson examine Petunia and determine that she has a fractured leg that needs to be set. They also recommend that the family build a fence around their property to keep Petunia from wandering into the street.

Later in the episode, the doctors are called to a nearby farm to treat a horse who has gotten injured while jumping over a fence. The horse, named Lucky, has a deep gash on his leg that has become infected. Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson clean and bandage the wound, but they know that Lucky will need to be closely monitored over the next few days to ensure that the infection doesn't spread.

As the episode progresses, the doctors face even more challenges, including a cat who has ingested a foreign object and a goat who has a severe case of pneumonia. But through it all, they remain committed to providing the best possible care to their patients.

In addition to the animal cases, "Hump Day" also features some personal moments for the doctors. Viewers get a glimpse into Dr. Hodges' family life as he spends time with his wife and kids. Meanwhile, Dr. Ferguson reflects on her decision to pursue veterinary medicine and talks about her love for animals.

Overall, "Hump Day" is a heartwarming and informative episode of Critter Fixers: Country Vets that showcases the dedication and compassion of Dr. Hodges and Dr. Ferguson. Whether dealing with routine check-ups or emergency surgeries, these two veterinarians work tirelessly to keep their patients healthy and happy.
