Cutthroat Kitchen season 6 episode 18 is titled "Scone Home." In this episode, four chefs are pitted against each other in a series of culinary competitions, each attempting to outwit their opponents and emerge as the victor.
The episode begins with host Alton Brown explaining the rules of the game. Each chef is given a sum of money, which they can use to bid on sabotages to inflict on their opponents during various challenges. These sabotages range from simple inconveniences, such as having to cook with only one hand, to more serious obstacles, such as having to cook with a tiny camp stove.
For the first challenge, the chefs must create their version of traditional English scones. However, they are only allowed to use ingredients that Alton has provided, which include items like clotted cream, jam, and bacon. In addition, the chefs must also contend with various sabotages, such as having to cook on a stove with no burners or having to wear oven mitts on both hands.
After tasting each of the dishes, Alton judges the results and declares the winner, who receives a special advantage in the next round.
The second challenge involves the chefs using a variety of canned goods to create a gourmet meal. However, each chef must also contend with a different breed of kitchen disaster, such as a lack of utensils or having to make their dish entirely in a blender. The resulting dishes are judged by Alton and a guest judge, who evaluate them based on taste and presentation.
Finally, the remaining chefs must create a dessert using only ingredients they can find in a vending machine. As they struggle to extract edible components from chips, candy bars, and soda, they are also hit with last-minute sabotages, such as having to cook with a toy Easy-Bake oven or having to create their dish without using any utensils.
Ultimately, only one chef can emerge victorious, walking away with the cash prize and bragging rights as the ultimate Cutthroat Kitchen champion.
