In the fifth episode of season 8 of Cutthroat Kitchen titled "Sax, Lies and Artichoke Dip," viewers are in for another intense culinary competition. Host Alton Brown returns to present a series of challenges that will push the four contestants to their limits.
As always, the chefs must bid on sabotages that they can use against their opponents. In this episode, one sabotage involves forcing a chef to wear a saxophone while cooking, while another involves limiting a chef's prep time to just five minutes.
The first round begins with a classic comfort food challenge - the contestants are tasked with making macaroni and cheese. However, they must incorporate artichoke dip into their dish, making it a more complex and challenging task. One chef loses valuable cooking time due to a sabotage, but manages to finish their dish in the nick of time.
Next up is a seafood challenge, in which the contestants must prepare dishes using a whole calamari as the main ingredient. One chef struggles with the task, as they have never cooked with calamari before. Another chef faces a sabotage that limits them to using only utensils made out of cookie cutters!
The final round is a dessert challenge, with the twist being that the contestants must use avocados as the main ingredient. One chef manages to create an impressive avocado dessert, while another is plagued with a sabotage that forces them to use a frozen avocado.
Throughout the episode, tensions run high as the contestants scramble to complete their dishes within the allotted time frame. But despite the high stakes and tricky sabotages, the chefs display impressive culinary skills and creativity.
In the end, only one chef emerges victorious, earning the $25,000 prize and the bragging rights that come with it. But for the viewers at home, the real winners are the ones who get to witness the intense and entertaining competition that is Cutthroat Kitchen.
