After a tumultuous season of time-traveling shenanigans, season 2 of DC's Legends of Tomorrow comes to a close with an episode fittingly titled "Aruba." The episode picks up right where the previous one left off, with the Legends successfully defeating the Legion of Doom and returning to 2017. However, they soon realize that their actions have severely altered the timeline and created an alternate reality known as "Doomworld."
In Doomworld, the Legends are no longer heroes and have essentially become the villains of their own story. For example, Rory aka Heatwave is now the mayor of Star City and reigns with an iron fist, while Ray aka The Atom is the head of a multi-billion dollar company and has completely forgotten about his superhero duties.
Determined to set things right, the Legends embark on a dangerous mission to return to 1916 and prevent the Legion from obtaining the Spear of Destiny in the first place. They travel back to World War I and team up with familiar faces like J.R.R. Tolkien and a young Damien Darhk to stop their former enemies from altering the timeline.
In addition to fighting the Legion, the Legends also have to deal with the time-traveling bounty hunter known as The Pilgrim, who has been hired by the Legion to kill their younger selves and prevent them from ever becoming heroes in the first place. The Pilgrim proves to be a formidable foe, but the Legends are able to outsmart her and prevent her from altering the timeline even further.
After several twists and turns, the Legends are finally able to return to 2017 and stop Doomworld from ever happening. They reunite with their former selves and work together to stop the Legion from obtaining the Spear of Destiny once and for all. The final battle is action-packed and emotional, and it ultimately leads to a surprising twist that sets the stage for season 3.
Overall, "Aruba" is a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to a wild and unpredictable season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. It manages to tie up loose ends, introduce new plot points, and leave viewers excited for what's to come.
