In season 1 episode 3 of Deadly Possessions, Zak Bagans investigates two seemingly unrelated haunted objects: Peggy the Doll and the thumb of notorious outlaw John Murrell.

First, Zak visits Peggy the Doll, who has a reputation for causing physical and emotional distress to anyone who comes in contact with her. The doll's current owner, Jayne Harris, explains that she acquired Peggy from a previous owner who claimed that the doll was possessed by the spirit of a woman who died during a séance. Since then, Peggy has allegedly caused multiple people to experience nausea, headaches, and even heart attacks.

Zak interviews several people who have interacted with Peggy, including a woman who claims that the doll caused her to have a stroke and a psychic who believes that Peggy is inhabited by a dark and malevolent entity. Zak himself holds Peggy and feels a strange energy emanating from the doll.

Next, Zak travels to Tennessee to investigate the thumb of outlaw John Murrell. Murrell was known for his involvement in a notorious gang and for his skills as a horse thief. Legend has it that after Murrell was hanged in 1834, a group of medical students stole his body and amputated his thumb in order to study its unique structure.

Zak meets with historian Chris Green, who explains that Murrell's thumb became a symbol of power for members of his gang and was even used in rituals to protect them from harm. The thumb eventually ended up in the possession of a man named James Hopkins, who claimed that it gave him the power to control the minds of others.

Zak examines the thumb, which is displayed in a glass jar filled with formaldehyde, and notes that it appears to be withered and shrunken. He also speaks with Hopkins' daughter and grandson, who recount stories of the thumb's effects on their family members.

Throughout the episode, Zak enlists the help of experts in order to better understand both Peggy and Murrell's thumb. He consults with a doll expert who believes that Peggy's strange energy may be due to her origins as a mass-produced doll, and he speaks with a forensic pathologist who examines Murrell's thumb and determines that its withered state is likely due to the preservative fluid in which it is stored.

As always, Zak's investigation is full of suspense, eerie encounters, and surprising revelations. By the end of the episode, viewers will be left wondering whether these objects truly possess a malevolent energy or whether their stories are simply the result of superstition and folklore.
