In Debris season 1 episode 8, titled "Spaceman," MI6 agents Finola Jones and Bryan Beneventi continue their investigation into the mysterious debris that has been falling from the sky. This episode begins with the discovery of a crashed spaceship in the middle of a remote forest.
Finola and Bryan are quickly dispatched to the site to assess the debris and any possible threats. Once they arrive, they quickly realize that the spaceship and its contents are unlike anything they have ever seen before. The ship is covered in a strange, glowing green substance that seems to be emanating from within.
As they investigate further, they realize that there are no signs of any occupants aboard and that the ship appears to have been abandoned for quite some time. However, they soon discover that they are not alone in the forest.
A group of heavily-armed men emerges from the trees, demanding that Finola and Bryan leave the area immediately. The agents quickly realize that these men are not government officials, but rather a group of private military contractors who have been hired by an unknown third party to secure the crash site.
Despite the contractors' threats, Finola and Bryan refuse to leave the scene and instead begin to improvise a plan to neutralize the threat. However, they soon realize that they are greatly outnumbered and outgunned, and that they will need outside support in order to make it out of the forest alive.
Meanwhile, back at MI6 headquarters in London, Director Maddox is dealing with internal strife within the agency. One of her own agents, named Ferris, has defected to a rival intelligence agency and is now threatening to reveal classified information about MI6's involvement in the debris investigation.
Maddox and her team race against the clock to track down Ferris and neutralize the threat before it's too late. As tensions rise both on the ground in the forest and within the agency, it becomes clear that the debris investigation is not only a matter of national security but a matter of life and death for those involved.
