Ep 5. Get Pitted

In Diesel Brothers season 6 episode 5, entitled "Get Pitted," the team takes on some epic builds, including transforming a Chevy Duramax into a monster mud truck with an 8-inch lift kit, 40-inch tires, and a custom off-road suspension. But that's not all — they also work on a powerful GMC Topkick C4500 that needs some serious upgrades to become the ultimate towing machine.

The first task at hand is the Duramax, which has been completely stripped down to the frame. The team sets to work on creating the perfect suspension system, which will allow the truck to handle any obstacle on the trail. They opt for an air suspension system, which can be adjusted on the fly depending on the terrain. This means the truck can be lowered for highway driving, and then raised up for offroading. Additionally, a set of 40-inch tires are added to give the truck extra clearance and help it grip the trail.

To make sure the truck can handle extreme conditions, the team also installs a custom off-road roll cage. This will protect the occupants in case the vehicle flips over mid-trail. The roll cage is mounted to the frame, so it will not only protect the passengers but also help reinforce the entire vehicle.

With the suspension and roll cage in place, the Duramax is ready for its final touches. The team adds custom bumpers, winches, and LED lights. The truck now looks like a total beast and the team can't wait to take it out for a spin.

Next up is the GMC C4500. This truck is already an impressive machine, but it needs a boost in power. The Diesel Brothers decide to install an Eaton TVS supercharger, which will increase the truck's horsepower by nearly 50%. This means the truck will be able to tow even heavier loads, and accelerate more quickly on the highway.

But the supercharger install is no simple job. The team has to remove the entire cab to gain access to the engine, which means they'll be working on the truck late into the night. The crew also has some fun on the side, building a custom coffee table made from an old engine block.

As the sun rises, the team is finally able to finish up the supercharger install. They also add custom exhaust, which gives the truck a fierce rumble. The GMC C4500 is now a towing machine like no other, with jaw-dropping power and a menacing look to match.

Finally, the team takes a trip over to the Pit Viper 4x4 off-road park, where they get both of their new builds out on the trails. The GMC C4500 is the perfect towing machine, easily pulling a massive RV up some of the steepest hills on the property. Meanwhile, the Duramax mud truck is an absolute beast on the trails, handling all sorts of obstacles with ease.
