Ep 2. Episode 1

Dirk Gently season 1 episode 2 is named "Episode 1". In this episode, the story continues from where it left off in the first episode. The episode starts with the arrival of Dirk and Todd at Patrick Spring's mansion. They are there to investigate the murder of Patrick Spring who was killed in the previous episode. Dirk is convinced that there is more to the murder and he begins to search for clues. Todd is a bit hesitant but he goes along with Dirk's plan.

Meanwhile, Farah Black who is also investigating the murder of Patrick Spring, is on the trail of Dirk and Todd. She believes that they are involved in the murder case. Farah confronts Todd and tries to interrogate him but Todd escapes from her clutches.

While investigating the murder, Dirk and Todd meet a man named Ken who had been hired by Patrick Spring before his death. Ken reveals to them that Patrick Spring was involved in some shady dealings and that he was a member of the Brotherhood of the Machine. Dirk believes that the Machine mentioned in the note is related to the Brotherhood.

In the meantime, Amanda, Todd's sister, gets into trouble when she is taken into police custody for drug possession. While in custody, Amanda experiences strange visions which she cannot explain. She seems to have gained some psychic powers which she cannot control. Amanda's visions seem to be related to the prophecy mentioned in the note.

As the episode progresses, Dirk and Todd get closer to the truth about Patrick Spring's murder. They discover that the murder was related to a bomb explosion which occurred at a concert that Todd had attended. The bomb was intended for Todd but it had killed several innocent people instead. Patrick Spring was involved in the plot to kill Todd.

Towards the end of the episode, the prophecy mentioned in the note seems to come true when a group of men in black suits arrive at the mansion. They seem to be after Dirk and Todd and a chase ensues. Farah also joins the chase and manages to capture Todd.

The episode ends with Amanda realizing the true nature of her visions and Dirk and Todd being chased by the mysterious men in black suits. The episode leaves the audience on a cliffhanger and sets the stage for the events to come in the rest of the season.
