Ep 11. Hercules: Obstacle Course

In the 11th episode of Disney Family Sundays' first season, the theme is Hercules: Obstacle Course. In this episode, host Amber Kemp-Gerstel guides families through a series of DIY crafts and activities inspired by the classic Disney animated film "Hercules."

The first craft of the episode is a mythical creature headband inspired by the many creatures Hercules encounters throughout his adventures. Using simple materials such as foam sheets and markers, families can create their own unique headbands to wear while completing the obstacle course later in the episode.

Next up is a Greek vase decorating activity. Families can paint and decorate a small vase with Greek-inspired patterns and designs, just like the ones seen in the movie during Hercules' training montage.

After the crafts are complete, it's time to hit the obstacle course! Families can create their own Hercules-inspired course using items such as pool noodles, hula hoops, and cones. The course includes challenges such as jumping over hurdles, crawling through tunnels, and balancing on beams.

Once the course is complete, the families participate in a "Chariot Race" to see who is the fastest. The chariots are made from cardboard boxes and decorated with Greek motifs and symbols.

Throughout the episode, Amber also shares fun facts about the film and its characters, such as how the song "Go the Distance" was originally written for a different Disney film.
