In Doctor Who season 9 episode 2, titled "Day of the Daleks (2)," the Doctor finds himself in a dark future where the Daleks have taken control of the planet. He is summoned there by his companion, Jo Grant, who has been captured by the Daleks and forced to work for them. The Doctor quickly realizes that Jo has been brainwashed, and sets out to undo the damage.
As the Doctor explores the Dalek-occupied world, he learns that the situation is far more dire than he had initially thought. The Daleks have gained the ability to travel through time, and are using that power to change history in their favor. They have gone back in time to the day of a peace conference, and have assassinated key figures, thus dooming the world to a never-ending war.
The Doctor and Jo join forces with a group of freedom fighters who are determined to restore their world to its former glory. They hatch a plan to travel back in time to the day of the peace conference and prevent the assassination from taking place. However, the journey back in time is perilous, and the group must navigate treacherous obstacles in order to succeed.
As they race against time, the Doctor and Jo come face-to-face with the Daleks themselves. The creatures are more deadly than ever, and the Doctor realizes that he may be facing an enemy that is too powerful to defeat. But the Doctor never gives up, and he uses all of his knowledge and cunning to outsmart the Daleks and restore peace to the world.
As the episode ends, the Doctor and Jo return to their own time, with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of the power of hope. They have saved a world from darkness, and in doing so, have reminded themselves of the limitless potential of the human spirit.
