Ep 3. Ken Helps Pat

Ken Helps Pat is the third episode of the first season of Dr. Ken. The show follows the life of Dr. Ken Park, a successful physician, husband, and father who is often flawed, but lovable. The show explores his personal and professional life, his daily struggles, and his family, friends, and colleagues.

In this episode, Ken tries to help his patient Pat, who is dealing with depression and anxiety after losing her husband. Pat is struggling to find a way to cope with her loss, and her condition is getting worse every day. She has stopped taking care of herself and spends her days in bed, not wanting to move or socialize. Ken decides to intervene and try to help her.

The episode starts with Pat visiting Ken's clinic for her regular checkup. After examining her, Ken realizes that Pat is not doing well mentally or physically. He observes that Pat has lost a lot of weight and neglected her hygiene. He tries to talk to her about what is going on, but Pat does not want to open up. She tells him that she is fine and that she is just grieving. Ken understands that she needs help and decides to reach out to her family.

Ken goes to visit Pat's daughter, Emily, and her son-in-law, Tom. He explains the situation to them and asks for their help. Emily is surprised to hear that her mother is not doing well and agrees to visit her. However, Tom is busy with work and is not sure if he can make time for it.

Meanwhile, at work, Ken is dealing with his annoying colleague Damona. Damona is a nurse who is always trying to one-up Ken and make him look bad in front of his patients. She constantly comes up with ideas that she thinks will impress the patients but ends up making a mess. Ken tries to ignore her but finds it hard to work with her.

Later, Ken goes back to visit Pat and finds her in worse condition. She is not talking, and she looks sick. Ken calls Emily and asks her to come over as soon as possible. Emily arrives, and she is shocked to see her mother in that state. She agrees to stay with her for a few days and help her out.

Ken and Emily start taking care of Pat, making sure that she eats and takes her medications. They also take her out for a walk and try to get her to engage in some social activities. However, Pat is resistant, and she is still not talking to them.

While all this is happening, Damona decides to open up a health clinic next to Ken's clinic. She starts offering free checkups and treatments to attract patients. However, her plans backfire when her patients start coming to Ken's clinic instead of hers. Damona is mad and accuses Ken of stealing her patients.

In the end, Ken and Emily manage to get through to Pat, and she opens up to them about her feelings. She tells them that she is scared and lonely without her husband. She also admits that she has been thinking about suicide. Ken reassures her that she is not alone and that he is there to help her. He prescribes her some medication and asks her to come back for regular checkups.

The episode ends with Pat feeling much better and thanking Ken and Emily for helping her. Ken also resolves his issues with Damona by telling her that he respects her as a nurse but that they need to work together as a team.
