Ep 3. Guilt is for Insecure People

Growing up in wealth, high society, and all its privileges aren't always what it's made out to be. With an abundance of money comes an abundance of problems, and that's the case for many of the characters in Dynasty season 1 episode 3, "Guilt is for Insecure People."

Blake Carrington's (Grant Show) past is being dredged up, resulting in a lot of unease in the family. Apparently, Blake's assistant, Cristal Flores (Nathalie Kelley), has some dirt on Blake, something to do with his former COO who committed suicide. Naturally, Blake is freaking out as he feels his past is coming back to haunt him.

Meanwhile, Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) is dealing with her own problems. She's trying to rekindle her romance with her ex-boyfriend, Jeff Colby (Sam Adegoke), but he's not interested as he's moved on. Instead of accepting rejection, Fallon persists and tries to appeal to another side of Jeff, but her meddling only makes his current girlfriend more suspicious of Fallon's intentions.

Additionally, Fallon is dealing with her strained relationship with her father. Their issues stem from her wanting to be the COO of Carrington Atlantic, but Blake has already promised the position to someone else. So Fallon seeks her brother Steven's (James Mackay) help in navigating a hostile takeover of the company, but their meeting doesn't go as planned.

Meanwhile, Cristal's nephew Sammy (Rafael de la Fuente) is trying to make amends with Steven, who feels Sammy betrayed him in the past. Steven is still struggling with his identity as a gay man and grappling with his feelings for Sammy.

As for Cristal, she's trying to stay above the drama but finds herself caught in the middle of it all. She wants to protect Blake and his reputation while also keeping her job, but doing so becomes increasingly difficult as more information is revealed.

As the episode goes on, each character's guilt and insecurities are brought to the surface. Fallon's need for control, Jeff's fear of commitment, Cristal's desire to protect and the Carrington family's obsession with their reputation.

"Guilt is for Insecure People" is a dramatic episode that highlights the consequences of the rich and powerful's actions. It showcases how the wealthy can often use their privilege to get away with things and how their guilt can eat away at their conscious. Each character's personal struggles are intertwined with the larger conflict surrounding Blake's past, making it an intriguing episode for fans of the show.
