Next, James visits The Arepa Lady, which is a food truck that serves Colombian-style arepas in Jackson Heights. James meets the owner, Maria Cano, who tells him the story of how she came up with the recipe for her arepas and how she started her business. James tries a few arepas and loves them. He particularly enjoys the chicharron arepa, which is filled with fried pork belly.

James then visits Kelvin Natural Slush Co., which is a truck that serves up unique and refreshing slushies. The flavors range from classic lime to maple bacon, and they are all delicious. The owner, Alex Rein, tells James about how he started Kelvin and how they are always coming up with new and creative flavors.

The next stop is at the Big D’s Grub truck, which is a fusion food truck that combines Korean and Mexican flavors. The owner, Dennis Kum, makes a delicious dish called Korean BBQ tacos, which James tries and loves. Dennis tells James how he came up with the idea for his fusion food and how he started his business.

Lastly, James visits the Luke’s Lobster roll truck, which serves up fresh, delicious Lobster rolls. The owner of the truck, Luke Holden, tells James about how he started his business and how they source their lobster directly from Maine. James tries the classic roll, which is buttered and toasted in a split-top bun, and it blows his mind.

Overall, Made in Manhattan is a fantastic episode of Eat St. that showcases some of the best street food in the city. James Cunningham does an excellent job of taking us on a culinary journey, and each stop on the journey is better than the last. The food truck owners are all passionate about their craft, and their enthusiasm is contagious.
