Ep 2. The New Mistress

Dorothy Gale finds herself in a strange and unfamiliar land after being swept away by a tornado. In Emerald City season 1 episode 2, titled "The New Mistress," Dorothy is taken to meet the Wizard of Oz who she hopes can help her find her way back home. As she navigates this mystical land, she begins to realize that she may have a greater purpose in Oz.

Meanwhile, in the Emerald City, the newly minted "Wizard" continues to solidify his hold on power. With the help of his loyal advisor Eamonn, he sets out to track down the missing Princess Ozma and put an end to her rebellion. But the Princess is not alone, she has been taken under the wing of a powerful witch named Mistress West who believes that Oz should belong to the witches, not the Wizard. Together they plot their next move against the Wizard's forces.

As the lines are drawn and battle looms on the horizon, Dorothy finds herself caught in the middle. Torn between her loyalty to the Wizard, who she believes can help her return home, and her growing sympathy for the rebels, she struggles to find her place in this new world. With danger lurking around every corner, she must rely on her wits and the help of her new friends, including a fearless warrior named Lucas, to survive.

As the episode progresses, we also learn more about the backstory of some of the key characters. We get glimpses into the origins of the witches and their rivalry with the Wizard. We also see flashbacks of Dorothy's life before coming to Oz, which sheds some light on why she may be the key to saving this strange world.

"The New Mistress" is an action-packed episode that sets the stage for even more intrigue and conflict to come. With every character having their own hidden agenda, it's impossible to predict who will come out on top. The show does an excellent job of balancing fast-paced action with character development and world-building. Fans of fantasy and adventure will find plenty to enjoy in this episode and the series as a whole.
