Ep 5. Not Good Enough Mothers

Amy and Levi, now partners in their secret "Open Air" project, find themselves bonding over their shared experiences of growing up with absent or neglectful mothers. Meanwhile, Amy's mother, Helen, visits her at work and tries to reconcile with her daughter, but Amy is still harboring deep resentment towards her.

At the same time, Amy is assigned a new assistant, Krista, who seems eager to please but also constantly distracted by personal issues. Amy tries to mentor her as best she can, but finds herself getting frustrated with Krista's lack of focus and professionalism.

As the day goes on, Amy becomes more and more fixated on the idea of "not being a good enough mother" herself. She reminisces about her own childhood and how her mother's neglect affected her, and becomes convinced that she herself will never be able to have children without making the same mistakes.

Meanwhile, Levi is dealing with his own issues. He has a tense phone call with his girlfriend, who he seems to be avoiding. He also begins to worry that he and Amy are getting too close too quickly, and tries to distance himself emotionally. However, when Krista makes a huge mistake at work, Amy and Levi come together to help her out and end up bonding even more.

In the end, Amy realizes that she can't keep blaming her mother for her own insecurities and that she needs to forgive her in order to move on. She attempts to reach out to Helen and start a fresh new relationship with her, but it's unclear whether her mother is ready to do the same. Meanwhile, Krista has a breakthrough at work and gains Amy's respect, and Amy and Levi continue to work together on their secret project.
