Ep 3. Odd Man Out

In the season 6 episode 3 of Everybody Loves Raymond titled "Odd Man Out", Ray and Debra try to connect with their oldest son, Michael. Ray becomes concerned when he realizes that Michael has no interest in playing sports like he did when he was a child. Instead, Michael enjoys playing with dolls and dressing up as a princess.

Ray is worried that Michael might be gay and talks to Debra about it, but Debra tells him that they should just let Michael be who he is and not try to force him into anything. Ray, on the other hand, is determined to prove that Michael is still a “normal” boy and tries to get him interested in playing basketball.

When Michael proves to be a terrible basketball player, Ray becomes even more concerned. He talks to his co-workers about it and they suggest that he take Michael fishing because it's a “guy” thing. Ray takes Michael fishing but it ends up being a disaster. Michael hates it and Ray ends up getting sick from the sea air.

Meanwhile, Debra is trying to get their youngest son, Geoffrey, to eat healthy by disguising vegetables in his food. She finds out that he’s been throwing the food away and replaces it with fast food. When Geoffrey gets sick from the fast food, Debra realizes that it’s better to just tell him the truth about what he’s eating instead of trying to trick him.

In the end, Ray comes to the realization that Michael can be whoever he wants to be and they should accept him for who he is. They all sit down as a family and Ray apologizes to Michael for not letting him be himself and they all hug it out.

Overall, the episode is a heartwarming reminder that parents should love their children no matter what their interests are and not try to force them into anything they’re not comfortable with.
