Ep 10. Winter Days, A Long Way Home

Shirou wakes up to find Rin missing from his room and discovers a letter from her saying she has gone to check on Archer. Meanwhile, Caster and Assassin attack Archer at the temple but are interrupted by Rin. The two engage in a fierce battle, with Rin finally defeating Caster with Archer's help.
Meanwhile, Shirou receives a visit from Illyasviel von Einzbern, who asks him to join forces with her against the other Master and Servants. Shirou refuses, insisting that he will continue to fight on his own terms.
Later, Rin and Archer return to the Emiya household and Archer reveals to Rin that he plans to betray her and join Caster and her Master. Rin is shocked at the news, but Archer explains that he believes Caster's plan is the best way to achieve victory and that Rin's idealistic notions of justice are futile.
As Rin struggles to come to terms with Archer's betrayal, she receives a visit from Kuzuki, who informs her that Caster has died. Kuzuki reveals that he was only following Caster's orders out of loyalty and that he has no interest in the Holy Grail War.
Meanwhile, Archer meets up with Caster and her Master, revealing his plans to join forces with them. Caster expresses suspicion over Archer's sudden change of heart but ultimately decides to accept his offer.
The episode ends with Rin and Shirou discussing Archer's betrayal and their next move in the war. Shirou insists that they will continue to fight on their own terms, while Rin laments her inability to save Archer from his own destructive ideals.
