Feed the Beast is a drama series from AMC that premiered in 2016. It stars David Schwimmer (known for his role as Ross in Friends) and Jim Sturgess (known for his roles in Across the Universe and Cloud Atlas) as two friends who open a restaurant in the Bronx. The story follows Tommy (Schwimmer), a widower and former sommelier who, after his wife's death, spirals into alcoholism and gambling. After being released from prison, he reconnects with his childhood friend and chef Dion (Sturgess), and together they come up with a plan to open a restaurant.

The problem is, Tommy owes a lot of money to the wrong people, and they're not exactly interested in making his life easy. Among them is a powerful and dangerous member of the mafia, who's owed a large sum by Tommy's dead wife. Tommy and Dion have to navigate through a maze of obstacles, from financial difficulties to the mafia's threats, if they want to make their dream come true.

Lorenza Izzo (known for her roles in The House with a Clock in Its Walls and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) plays Pilar, a food critic who wrote a scathing review of Dion's old restaurant, and who becomes involved with him and Tommy in unexpected ways.

Feed the Beast is a story about friendship, redemption, and second chances. The show features strong performances from its leads, particularly David Schwimmer, who's known for his comedic roles but here shows a different side of himself.

The restaurant business is both the backdrop and the driving force of the story, and the show explores the challenges and rewards of the industry, from sourcing ingredients to dealing with customers. Food lovers will appreciate the attention to detail given to the culinary aspects of the show, with mouth-watering dishes prepared by Dion and his sous-chef, played by John Doman.

The show also touches on themes such as grief, addiction, and family dynamics, as Tommy struggles to come to terms with the loss of his wife and his relationship with his son, who's in the care of his alcoholic grandfather. Dion, on the other hand, has his own demons to face, including a troubled past and a strained relationship with his ex-wife.

Feed the Beast has received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its performances and storytelling, while others found it too slow-paced or formulaic. However, the show has gained a loyal fanbase, who appreciate its unique blend of drama, comedy, and food porn.

Overall, Feed the Beast is a compelling and engaging drama series that will resonate with anyone who's ever had a dream and had to fight hard to make it come true. While it may not be a perfect show, it's definitely worth a watch for its strong performances, mouth-watering food, and heartfelt storytelling.

Feed the Beast is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (10 episodes). The series first aired on June 5, 2016.
