As the show Floribama Shore returns for its third season, the audience will be taken on yet another unforgettable journey with the series regulars. In the first episode, titled "THOTS and Prayers," we see the cast reunited after a long break. For the uninitiated, Floribama Shore is a MTV reality show that follows eight young adults as they create unforgettable memories while living together in a summer share house on the Gulf Coast of Panama City Beach, Florida.

In this season's premiere episode, the castmates arrive at the house - stocked up with enough alcohol for a family reunion. The audience meets the old gang comprising Codi, Gus, Kirk, Candace, Aimee, Jeremiah, Nilsa, and Mattie. As expected, the group dynamic is the same; everyone's flirting, partying, and grilling. The hangout spot does not disappoint, as the producers elevated the house to a whole new level. The design and decor are top-notch, with an impressive infinity pool in the backyard and plenty of space for lounging around.

As the cast settles in, catching up and flirting ensue, but drama is never far from the corner. Everyone is in the house except for Nilsa, who's dealing with some significant personal matters. Mattie seems to be in good spirits, and Candace is excited to be with her best friend again. Aimee has a new look, and Gus is still as hot-headed as ever. Kirk and Codi are their usual goofy selves, making everyone laugh with their antics.

The episode features an answer to the cliffhanger from the previous season, when we saw Gus vanish from the house due to a family problem. He returns with a new look, shorter hair, and appears more contemplative. At first, his friends are shocked and confused, almost unrecognizing him. But as they gather, they discover that Gus visited his family due to his sister's death and his father's illness. It was an emotionally charged moment for all, and the housemates rally around him to show their support.

As night falls and the liquor flows, things start to heat up, and the drama begins. Jeremiah, always a ladies' man, attempts to woo a new cast mate, Mattie. But his effort is cut short as Kirk, Codi, and Gus pull a prank on him. He gets pushed into the pool just as he's making his move on her, leaving both wet and unsatisfied. Meanwhile, Candace decides to go for someone new, which creates some tension amongst the group. Nilsa is still dealing with some personal demons, but everyone is there for her to offer support.

The episode also touches on the pandemic's impact, which is still a significant issue in the Florida area. COVID-19 has swept through their community, so the castmates must quarantine before beginning the festivities. The situation is an obstacle that few could have foreseen, but the characters try to make the best of it. In one powerful moment, they all gather and share their experiences during the lockdown, the impact it had on their lives, and family members they had lost to the virus.

In conclusion, the premiere episode of Floribama Shore season three offers the expected twist, turns, and drama the audience has come to expect from the series. The cast of characters have all grown since we last met them, but the housemates' family-like bond that we've come to love remains as strong as ever. The show continues to thrive by showcasing the unscripted and unpredictable lives of eight young adults living in Panama City Beach over the summer season. With a fresh new start, the producers seem to have hit a perfect balance between the series' wild party themes and its real-world consequences.
