The two groups part ways, and Soma and Megumi manage to find what they were looking for, but also stumble upon a strange man named Doctor Hojo, who claims to have a secret ingredient that will make any dish taste exceptionally good.

Back at the restaurant, Soma's fried chicken wings are a hit with Chie, but Kurokiba and Alice are unimpressed, believing that Soma's dish lacks depth and complexity.
