Macross II, also known as Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: Lovers Again, takes place 80 years after the events of Macross. While the Macross still stands as a Zentradi deterrent, the Marduk have appeared and brought both the Zentradi and Meltlandi under their heel. The Marduk have learned from the earthlings and deployed their own militarized form of pop singers, called Emulators, to augment their forces. Macross II focuses on Hibiki, a report who rescues an Emulator named Ishtar during a Marduk-UN forces skirmish.
