Four In A Bed Season 4 Episode 3 Well House Manor

  • January 9, 2013

Well House Manor is the third episode of the fourth season of the popular British television series Four in a Bed. In this episode, four pairs of Bed and Breakfast owners from across the country take turns to host each other and compete to be crowned the best Bed and Breakfast in the area.

The episode starts with the owners of Well House Manor, located in Bodmin, Cornwall, welcoming their guests for the week. The manor is a grand, 16th-century property that has been lovingly restored and decorated by owners, David and Wayne, to create a luxurious and peaceful retreat for their guests. The other B&B owners are impressed with the size and grandeur of the property, but also a little intimidated by its opulence.

The first night at the Well House Manor gets off to a rocky start when one of the guests criticizes their room for being too small and basic. David and Wayne take the criticism in good spirits, but it sets off a bit of tension among the group. The next morning, the owners enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared by David and Wayne, featuring local ingredients such as Cornish sausages and fresh eggs from the manor's own hens.

The second day of the competition sees the owners taking part in a baking challenge where they have to create a traditional Cornish cream tea. This challenge proves to be a hit with everyone, as they enjoy learning the art of properly making scones and enjoying them with lashings of clotted cream and jam.

As the competition progresses, the owners get to know each other better and start to form bonds, but there is still a lot of rivalry between them. The owners of the other B&Bs, for example, critique various aspects of the Well House Manor, including the size and quality of the rooms, and the fact that there are no tea and coffee-making facilities in the bedrooms. However, they all agree that the gardens and the views from the manor are stunning.

The third day of the competition sees the owners taking on a new challenge, where they have to design and host an activity for the other owners. This provides the owners with a chance to showcase what makes their B&Bs unique and sets them apart from the competition.

During the last episode of the competition, the owners sit down to discuss their views of each other's properties and provide feedback to each other. This process has always been a tense one, and in Well House Manor, it is no different. The owners criticize each other's properties, sometimes harshly. However, there is also praise, and all the owners are genuinely impressed with the hard work and dedication that has gone into creating each of their B&Bs.

As the episode draws to a close, the owners tally up the scores and learn what they have won. Throughout the competition, Well House Manor has been a strong contender, but the final decision is left up to the judges. The owners then find out who has won the competition and whether or not they've made a profit or loss.

Overall Well House Manor is a great episode of Four in a Bed that takes viewers through a journey of the preparations and challenges that comes with running a bed and breakfast. It highlights the ups and downs that owners face in running a bed and breakfast, including managing guests, catering, housekeeping and maintenance, and how they deal with critiques, feedback and competition. The show is entertaining and informative, providing viewers with an inside look into the world of the B&B.
