In AMC's family drama and reality show, "Freakshow"; viewers are treated to an inside look at one of Venice Beach, California's most popular boardwalk attractions, the Venice Beach Freakshow. Owner Todd Ray and his' family; wife, Danielle and their children, Asia and Phoenix; star in this unique reality show alongside human attractions, which are regarded as "extended family". The series follows the family throughout their day to day life and the ups and downs of running a family business, all the while maintaining a balance between work-life and home-life. It also takes an in depth view of the museum's strange creatures, oddities and living attractions and features Todd's determined personal procuring of new and exciting exhibits and performers for the Venice Beach Freakshow. Todd, a successful former music producer left the world of producing music to follow his' dream of collecting and exhibiting the odd and unusual; whether it be posters or eccentric performers. Todd's efforts and the lengths he will go to procure a new exhibit are documented as he tries to find the most interesting, odd, or unbelievable artifacts and performers for the Freakshow through any means he can find. The human attractions are exceptional and unique people who are not afraid to be themselves; when for ages their uniqueness has been looked at with curiosity. The human performers push their physical boundaries to excite and entertain spectators of the attraction. They revel in what makes each one unique and all the while living their lives on their own terms. Morgue; the sword swallower, Larry "Wolf Boy" Gomez, and the Creature are among the human attractions featured in this inside view of the day to day workings of the Freakshow. Not only do the viewers get treated to an inside glimpse of these entertainer's on stage persona but you also get to see the side not featured at the Freakshow.
