In the episode "Louisween" of Fresh Off the Boat season 3, the Huang family gets into the spirit of Halloween as Louis tries to outdo their neighbor, Mitch, with his own extravagant decorations and an all-out party.

As per usual, Louis goes a bit overboard with the decorations, turning the front yard into a graveyard complete with fog machines and animatronic zombies. He even goes as far as renting a fake tombstone for the family to pose in front of for photos. Jessica, on the other hand, is initially hesitant about the holiday, fearing that their young children, Eddie, Emery, and Evan, will be traumatized by all the scary decorations. She tries to put a stop to it all by suggesting they go to church instead, but Louis is undeterred.

Meanwhile, Eddie and his group of friends are struggling to come up with the perfect Halloween costume idea. After brainstorming a few lackluster ideas, they finally land on the brilliant (and culturally insensitive) idea to dress up as various Asian stereotypes. Eddie is excited about the idea until he realizes that his mother will definitely not approve of it. He tries to hide the costumes from her, but of course, Jessica eventually finds out and is rightfully horrified.

To make matters worse, Eddie's crush, Nicole, is coming to the Halloween party and he's worried that she won't think he's cool if he doesn't have a good costume. He decides to ditch the offensive group costume and instead dresses up as Shaq, a more socially acceptable choice.

As the party gets underway, Louis is in his element as the host, making sure everyone is having a good time and showing off his impressive dance moves. Jessica, however, is still not a fan and spends most of the party hiding out in the kitchen. When Mitch shows up with his own elaborate costume, Louis becomes determined to one-up him. He pulls out all the stops, including a haunted house in the garage and creepy music playing throughout the house.

As the night goes on, things start to go awry. Emery accidentally knocks over one of the animatronic zombies, causing it to break. Eddie's Shaq costume is a bit too warm and he starts to sweat profusely. Jessica ends up getting spooked by one of the decorations and accidentally breaks a vase. And to top it all off, Mitch's young daughter goes missing.

The Huang family bands together to search for her, with Eddie and his friends donning their Asian stereotype costumes to help. It's a tense moment, but they eventually find her hiding in the garage, unharmed.

As the party winds down, Jessica admits that maybe she was a bit too hard on Halloween and Louis promises to tone it down a bit next year. Eddie gets his chance to impress Nicole with a sweet slow dance and the whole family ends the night with smiles on their faces, despite all the chaos that ensued.

Overall, "Louisween" is a hilarious and heartwarming episode that captures the essence of both Halloween and the Huang family dynamic.
