Fugget About It is a Canadian animated comedy television series that premiered on Teletoon on September 7, 2012. The show is a satirical take on the mobster genre, centred on the life of Jimmy Falcone, a former New York mobster who moves his family to Regina, Saskatchewan to start a new life in the witness protection program.

In season 1 episode 1, titled "Hate Crime Legislation Is for P*ssies", we are introduced to the Falcone family as they begin their new life in Regina. Jimmy Falcone, along with his wife Cookie and their two children - son Petey and daughter Theresa, relocate to Canada as part of a deal with the FBI to testify against his former crime family.

Jimmy is initially skeptical about the move, believing that living in Regina will be a downgrade from his high-rolling mob life in New York. However, he soon realizes that he must adapt to his new life if he wants to keep his family safe. Jimmy takes on the persona of a chiropractor while Cookie finds work as a stripper. Petey and Theresa attend a new school where they try to fit in with their Canadian classmates.

The episode takes a satirical look at how the Falcone family navigates their new life in Regina. The family's struggle to adapt to their new surroundings is made apparent when they witness a hate crime. A group of hockey players beat up a Sikh man, mistaking him for a Muslim. The incident shocks the Falcones as they realize that they are not in the mafia anymore and that the rules are different in Canada.

As the Falcones adjust to their new life in Canada, the family members find themselves struggling with different aspects of their new identity. Petey, who was once an alpha male in New York, has trouble fitting in with his new, pacifist classmates. Theresa, who was never popular in New York, becomes the target of affection for many of the boys in her new school.

Throughout the episode, we see Jimmy struggle with his new identity as a chiropractor, often slipping into his old ways of violence and intimidation. However, he realizes that if he wants to keep his family safe, he must abide by the rules of the witness protection program.

The show's humour often relies on caricatures of Canadian culture, such as the use of Canadian slang and references to Canadian stereotypes. Fugget About It's use of humor is effective in that it manages to draw out a few laughs from its viewers without relying on tired sitcom tropes and catch-phrases. Despite the show's reliance on irreverence and satire, it manages to maintain a balance between the comedic and dramatic elements of the show.

Overall, "Hate Crime Legislation Is for P*ssies" does a great job of introducing us to the Falcone family and setting up the premise for the rest of the show. The episode is a great example of the show's unique, off-beat humour and it manages to maintain a sense of balance between the comedic and dramatic aspects of the show. Fugget About It offers an entertaining and innovative take on the mobster genre, making it a must-watch series for anyone looking for something new and unconventional.
