Master gardener Paul James takes a journey to Encinitas, California, to visit the garden of Suzi Torre Bueno. Her two gardens feature 400 varieties of Mediterranean, Australian and South African plants and others. Next, James shows how to build some simple nursery beds. He makes his beds from 1x12s and wood screws. He also makes some long-planned changes to his garden, moving plants out of unsuitable areas to better conditions. Imported red fire ants are invading many Southern states. They can kill small wildlife, beneficial insects and people with allergies to their venom. James gives helpful information to control them.
