Gardening by the Yard Season 6 Episode 4 Landscape Update
- 22 min
Master gardener Paul James gives a tour of his garden just days after a flood. He takes viewers to the vegetable garden to talk about planting squash and cucumbers and then tours his rock and shade gardens; he shows off his favorite ferns, bushes and groundcovers. He talks about the trend to having less lawn; he likes lawns, however, for their aesthetics and benefits such as oxygen generation, air pollutant filtration, erosion prevention and natural cooling. He discusses choosing between chemical and manual weeding and decides to conduct an experiment; two people work equal halves of a weed-covered bed. He finishes the show with a talk about perennials.
