Ep 7. The Return of the Ancient Mariner

Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 go on a mission to investigate a mysterious yacht, which has been spotted off the coast of California. On board the yacht are a group of international criminals, who are planning to steal a top-secret missile system from the United States government.

During their investigation, Max and 99 encounter the yacht's captain, a man named Captain Liebshen. Liebshen is a former naval captain who has been living on the seas for over thirty years, and he claims to be the last of the ancient mariners. Despite his odd behavior, Max and 99 believe that Liebshen may be able to help them find the criminals and stop the theft of the missile system.

With Liebshen's help, Max and 99 discover that the criminals are using an underwater tunnel system to sneak into a military base. Max and 99 must infiltrate the base and stop the criminals before they can steal the missile system.

Meanwhile, back at CONTROL headquarters, the Chief and the rest of the gang are dealing with their own problems. An aging scientist has invented a machine that can turn back time, and a group of KAOS agents are trying to steal it. The Chief is forced to use his wits to outsmart the KAOS agents and protect the time machine.

As the two storylines unfold, Max and 99 find themselves in a race against time to stop the criminals and save the missile system. With Liebshen's help, they are able to put a stop to the criminals' plans and save the day.

In the end, Max and 99 return to CONTROL headquarters, where they learn that the Chief was successful in stopping the KAOS agents and protecting the time machine. The gang celebrates their victory, but Max knows that there will always be another mission waiting for them.
