Ep 24. Hello, Columbus - Goodbye, America

Max and 99 are sent to protect a secret formula for a desalinization process, which can turn seawater into drinking water, from falling into KAOS' hands. The formula is held in a briefcase, and Max is to hand it over to a courier, Agent 43, at the Columbus National Monument in Washington D.C. However, KAOS has learned about the exchange and plans to intercept the briefcase. To thwart their plans, Max and 99 disguise themselves as tourists and head to the monument.

Meanwhile, at Control, the Chief receives a call from the President requesting the formula. The Chief, unaware that Max and 99 are in the field, sends Agent 4 to retrieve it from the courier. However, Agent 4 is a KAOS agent disguised as an old lady. She attempts to steal the formula from Max and 99 but fails, and they chase after her. During the chase, Max and 99 are separated, with Max accidentally sending the briefcase down a drainpipe.

Now without the formula, Max and 99 must retrieve it before KAOS does. After a series of mishaps, they track the briefcase to a construction site where KAOS has it and is planning to deliver it to their headquarters via hot air balloon. Max and 99 climb aboard the balloon and a fight ensues in mid-air. In the end, Max recovers the briefcase and the formula is secured.

Back at Control, the President arrives to collect the formula, but it turns out to be a fake. Max had anticipated KAOS would try to steal the real one and had prepared a decoy. The Chief congratulates Max and 99 on their successful mission and thanks them for their hard work. The episode ends with Max attempting to take a picture with the President, but his camera explodes.
