Ep 20. Prodigal

The episode Prodigal from season 1 of G.I. Joe Renegades follows the Joe team as they enter a Cobra-controlled town to retrieve a mysterious package. Flint is understandably irritated but his father explains that he is there for a reason - he has been hired by Cobra as a consultant to help them retrieve the package. The team is forced to work with him as they try to navigate the labyrinthine town and its numerous traps.

As the team draws closer to the package, they are suddenly ambushed by Cobra guards. In the heat of the battle, Duke is shocked to see her former lover who she thought was dead. The two share a tense moment before having to resume fighting. After the dust has settled, the team manages to retrieve the package and start making their way out of the town.

As they leave, Flint confronts his father about why he left and why he is now working for Cobra. His father explains that he had to leave to protect his family and that his work with Cobra was the only way he could make a living. Despite this, Flint is still hurt and the two part ways on less than amicable terms. Duke, on the other hand, is grappling with her emotions after reuniting with her former lover. As the team makes their way back to base, Duke is seen to be in deep thought hinting that her reunion may have long-term consequences.

The episode Prodigal of G.I Joe Renegades is a thrilling, action-packed ride with plenty of emotional beats for the characters. The plot is well executed with several twists and turns that will keep viewers engaged till the very end. The show is also notable for its animation, which is fluid and dynamic, making the action scenes all the more enjoyable to watch.
