R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour
- 8 Seasons
R. L. Stine's The Haunting Hour is a half-hour-long anthology type show based on the movie The Haunting Hour: Don't Think About It and the books The Haunting Hour by writer R. L. Stine. The show premiered on The Hub with a sneak peak of the show on October 29th, 2010. It then returned with two Christmas shows, "A Creature Was Stirring" and "The Dead Body," on December 25th, 2010. The initial plot line in "A Creature Was Stirring" follows Timmy Morgan, a young boy who wants nothing more than his family to be happy again. Christmas morning Timmy finds a large amount of presents beneath the tree. One present appears out of nowhere and contains a hideous monster. The plot continues as Timmy tries to prove that the monster is responsible for the trouble-making inside the house. The monster ultimately burns down the house, making the family forget divorce and realize they can be happy if they have each other. Timmy is played by actor Thomas Robinson with Dale Gillespie as Santa Claus. Much like its predecessor, Goosebumps, The Haunting Hour portrays cast members involved in a multitude of scary situations with monsters, aliens and ghosts. The characters normally go through the episodes trying to explain the haunting situation while on a mission to defeat the evil in whatever form it takes. The Haunting Hour usually ends with a moral lesson that children can learn from. The Haunting Hour, produced by Front Street Pictures, was one of the four original series aired on The Hub that won a Cine Golden Eagle Award for its storytelling and production efforts.
