Ep 6. Rory's Birthday Parties

Gilmore Girls follows the story of Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter Rory, who live in a small town in Connecticut. In season 1 episode 6, titled "Rory's Birthday Parties," it's Rory's sixteenth birthday and she's struggling to decide if she wants to have a big party or a small gathering with just her closest friends.

At the same time, Lorelai is dealing with her own issues as she struggles to accept that her ex-boyfriend Max is now dating someone else. She's unsure of how to move on and the situation is made even more complicated when Max shows up at Rory's birthday party.

Meanwhile, Rory's grandmother, Emily, is planning her own birthday party for Rory, completely unaware that Rory has other plans. Emily is determined to throw the perfect party with all of Rory's old friends and classmates in attendance, which leads to a clash of ideas on how best to celebrate.

As Rory struggles with the pressure of pleasing both her grandmother and her own friends, Lorelai tries to navigate her complicated feelings about Max and the inevitable repercussions of his new relationship.

Through it all, the Gilmore girls rely on their quick wit and banter to get through the ups and downs of a very eventful sixteenth birthday. "Rory's Birthday Parties" explores the complex relationships between parents and children, and the struggles that come with growing up and making difficult decisions.
