Ep 14. The Incredible Shrinking Lorelais

Lorelai is under a lot of stress in this episode. She's feeling the pressure of running the Dragonfly Inn on her own, and she's also trying to deal with her newfound relationship with Luke. When she starts to feel like everything is closing in on her, she decides to take a break and go for a hike.

Meanwhile, Rory is dealing with her own stress as she tries to balance her busy school schedule with a new internship at the Stamford Eagle Gazette. She's also struggling with the fact that her boyfriend, Dean, is now married and seems to be moving on with his life.

She comes up with the idea to create a spa day for Rory, complete with massages, facials, and a relaxing soak in a hot tub.

While Rory is enjoying her spa day, Lorelai is still hanging out with the kids in the fort. She's having fun playing with them and forgetting about all of her adult responsibilities for a while. However, as the day wears on, she starts to feel like she needs to get back to reality.

When Lorelai returns to town, she realizes that she's missed an important meeting with a potential investor for the Inn. She's worried that she's blown her chance to secure the funding she needs to keep the Inn afloat. She decides to take a risk and call the investor to apologize and see if she can reschedule the meeting.

Meanwhile, Rory's spa day turns out to be a disaster. The esthetician she's seeing is a gruff old man who gives her a horrible facial and ends up making her break out in hives. Lane is devastated that her plan to help Rory relax has backfired so badly.

In the end, Lorelai's gamble pays off. The investor agrees to meet with her again, and Lorelai is able to secure the funding she needs to keep the Inn running smoothly. Rory, despite her bad experience at the spa, is grateful to Lane for trying to help her de-stress.

Overall, this episode is a reminder that everyone needs to take a break and relax every once in a while.
