In season 7 episode 17 of Gilmore Girls, titled "Gilmore Girls Only," fans get an exclusive peek into the witty and charming Gilmore Girls world. This episode centers on the relationships between the badass Gilmore ladies: Lorelai, her daughter Rory, and her mother Emily. Rory and Lorelai plan a girl's day out for just the three of them, with no meddling men allowed. They book a luxurious suite in a fancy hotel in Hartford, Connecticut for some much-needed bonding time.

The episode opens with Lorelai picking up Rory and heading to her mother's house. Emily is all smiles and happiness when she sees her daughter and granddaughter coming over, but Lorelai senses something is off. Emily is so excited to see the girls because she has been let go from the local museum board and needs distraction from her problems. Things get rocky between Emily and Lorelai right away, as Emily continues to push an idea she has for their relationship to the forefront. She wants to start having dinner with Richard, Lorelai's father, again. This idea doesn't sit well with Lorelai, who has been working on her relationship with her dad since the beginning of the series.

Rory steps in and suggests that they do a girl's day out instead of dinner with Richard. Emily agrees, and they make plans to check into the hotel. They arrive at the hotel in style, with valets and bellhops taking care of everything for them. The suite is luxurious and spacious, with beautiful views of the city. They immediately get down to the business of bonding over beauty treatments, movie marathons, and junk food. Rory gets excited about the hotel's movie selection, and they choose "His Girl Friday" as the first film.

While they settle in for their fun weekend of relaxation, there's tension brewing. Lorelai is upset that Emily is treating Rory like a surrogate daughter, instead of stepping up and being the grandmother that Lorelai and Rory need. Meanwhile, Emily is hoping that her relationship with Rory will improve, as she feels like she's been out of the loop her whole life. Rory is stuck in the middle, trying to be a peacemaker between the two.

As they watch the second movie of their weekend, "The Way We Were," Lorelai starts to get emotional as she watches the love story between Katie and Hubbell play out on the screen. Emily catches on to her daughter's emotional turmoil and asks what is going on. Lorelai finally opens up, admitting that she's feeling like she's lost her connection to Rory, and that it seems like she's being edged out of Rory's life. Emily listens and gives Lorelai some much-needed validation and encouragement. She tells Lorelai that she's an amazing mother, and that her love and dedication to Rory is evident in everything she does.

By the time the weekend is over, all three Gilmore Ladies are feeling closer than ever. Emily and Lorelai have a heart-to-heart, and Emily apologizes for pushing her plans for Richard on them. They agree to have dinner together again, but on their terms. And Rory finally admits that she loves being in a room with just her mom and grandmother, with no boys around to distract them. They all head back to Stars Hollow filled with laughter and love.

Overall, season 7 episode 17 of Gilmore Girls titled "Gilmore Girls Only" is a heartwarming episode that's meant to celebrate the bond between three generations of Gilmore women. Fans of the series will enjoy seeing the three ladies let loose and have some much-needed girl time, while also working through some of their deeper emotional struggles. It's a great show for anyone who loves a good family drama punctuated by witty humor and quirky characters.
