Lynn decides to take control of her own career path and seeks out advice from a career counselor. The counselor recommends that she follow her passions instead of just looking for a specific job title. Lynn takes this advice to heart and begins to dabble in different creative pursuits.

The ladies all eventually come to realize that their individual struggles are just a part of life and that they are lucky to have each other as support systems. They agree to lean on each other more and to not let life's challenges get in the way of their friendship.

"Friends, Colleagues, Brothers" is a strong episode of Girlfriends that continues to showcase the bonds of sisterhood between the four main characters. It also touched on important issues such as corporate greed and finding one's own path in life. The episode balances humor and heart in a way that fans of the show will undoubtedly appreciate.
